Life Instyle

I had a ball I met so many of our lovely sellers and am looking forward to seeing some many of the gorgeous things fill up our pages on Down that Little Lane over the coming weeks x

Oh if only I was acreditable..

I could do an advertorial on this one.. instead I will just tell you all and have rather smaller audience.. if your kids like sushi, like mine do and if yours can polish of 3 rolls and still be eyeing up more, like mine do then this is sooo for you

You essentially make your rice, open the barrel, fill each side, press the stick in the middle to create a fill space, fill it, close the barrel with the plunger up the top, lock another stopper on the other end, screw down 5 times to compact, take the lock stop off and push out the perfectly round, compacted sushi onto nori paper then roll!!.

I stuffed them full and cost me about $12 all up (and $6 of that was Salmon Sashimi that I ate half before even starting).. I made 6 long rolls which is 12 that we would get in the shops.. do would be $36 at my local and way more full.

How strange is it to think our kids grow up on salmon sashimi sushi rolls? Lucky little things they are.. so healthy and soo simple.. $30 in some knife shop.. $21.40 with free shipping over here

52 Weeks of Grateful: Courage

I don't always read Brons post before I write my grateful as I don't want it to change my thoughts but today as I had such a firmly planned one in my head I did and I am still sitting here with shivers as I could almost cut and paste!!

This week I am grateful for Courage. There are so many choices you make in life and last year hubby and I took a big leap of faith and trusted some advice from our web boys. That advice could have been just a good ploy to get some extra cash from us or could have been an absolutely priceless piece of advice for the future of our business. I love them and I trust them (I met them 5 years beforehand) and the feeling in my gut was so strong from day 1 of chatting to them about Down that Little Lane that we would be a formidable team that I didn't hesitate in saying go for it... Yesterday their advice paid us back.. not in a monetary sense but in future business we are now set to rock the world. I am so happy we had the courage to trust

But the freaky thing this week is that my other thing I am grateful for is Generosity... I went to Life Instyle yesterday and managed to meet so many of our sellers that were exhibiting there (I didn't get to all of them.. 90%) and the overwhelming thing I got back was that they firstly thought I was doing an amazing job (aw shucks) and secondly that they were so full of ideas and support along with such generous offers for the future. I was humbled yet ego boosted to the max..

I topped off the day with a surprise 40th (so a chance to frock up) for another favourite friend and really had a rather fabulous day...lots of fist pumps and boo yeahs!! What are you grateful for this week?

The Playroom

Oh the joys.. for an OCD storage clean away nutter like me the ability to let my kids make mess with no dramas from Mum has been bliss. This came about as a result of having them share a bedroom and I am so glad we did as I have a toy free living room ;)

I maybe go in once a week and return a few things to original spots but generally they seem to pack stuff away themselves or they leave them in little collections that just look cute so I don't mind.

Do you have playrooms? I am loving just to get them to stop watching my TV ;)

Collections Part 2

I decided to continue my Collections Series... the bits and pieces that make up your family life are what the heart and soul of a home are about. Our blogs are here for us so this is me being selfish and creating some memories for me to look back on when all this things have moved on to new homes as they no doubt will....

These are snapshots from the kids new playroom I will post pics of that later.. What collections do you have in your house?

Oh it is so cringe worthy... Accent Vlog

Watching yourself back on video is so cringable but Em said go on have a bash and well Em is a funny type of gal so I thought I would join in and well if you can't laugh at yourself then who can you laugh at?..

Accent Vlog from Tessa White on Vimeo.

So there we go .. my accent vlog.. I promise never to vlog again.. its all to weird.. like when you read a book you have your vision of the person and the way they sound then they put it on film with an actor that is not your style and ruin it all...Soz if you had me more Angelina Jolie than the actual D Grade Neighbours Version I actually am, lol....reality sucks huh?

Oh and fancy joining in?.. here's your instructions..

Say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water,
Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again,
Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup,
Pajamas, Caught

And answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and
extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries
at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?

I am Grateful..

So this weeks topic with the gorgeous Maxabella is Nature... I love that Bron is giving us themes now as my life of the last 3 months has turned a little hectic and when I think about my "Grateful Posts" I can get a little lost... pathetic I would have to say is it is really not hard to be grateful for the small stuff.

So what with Nature this week well you know what it served me up a mother load of rain on Tuesday, check that picture above of my back garden at 7.30am!. The thing was I had gone to bed the night before saying I was going to run up to North Head.. woke up got this and thought blegh, bugger that THEN I decided blegh to that too and ran up there anyway.

I am grateful I did.. running in the rain I felt in control, I was nice and cool, it was refreshing and most of all I saw inspiring views and felt like I had stuck to my goals. If nature hadn't decided to chuck it down I would never have been quite so chuffed at the end if that run. So Thank you Nature I am Grateful you were having a rainy day!

What are you grateful for this week ? Its good to try.....
