So proud right now... like totally beaming...

My father owned his own business and was always a strong and loyal boss.. drive to achieve, eager to learn and never rely on others..

I have been self employed all my life, travelled to many countries during that time and I guess you could say I am pretty independent..

NOW my brother (who has also been pretty much self employed since Uni, even in the same industry) has gone and taken that drive to a whole new level and not only written a film but actually had it produced!!.

I am so proud, so , so proud.. It is a Horror/Thriller and even the artwork gives me the shivers..

Shock 'til you drop wrote "One title we've been tipped off about is Treehouse. Micheal Guy Ellis is making his directorial debut with the horror film which was penned by Alex Child and Miles Harrington.

P.S Yes if you know my sons name it was

"..Anywho I just had to chuck it out there... over and out from one proud as punch big sis..

How did your Business come about?

At the time in 2009 when the Phoebe Original was created Peter (the Australian half of the duo) was working as an Architect and I (├ůsa, the Swedish other half of the duo) was studying Product Design in Brisbane. Our weekends were spent playing with ideas and just making things. The combination of our Australian and Swedish cultures, inspirations and creative outcomes was something that we were passionate about and wanted to continue to build on so Phoebe Lamps evolved from there..

Is there a story behind the name?
Who is Phoebe? We like to leave a little mystery surrounding that…

What do you get up to when you are not working?
Having fairly recently relocated back to Australia and settling in Adelaide after a couple of years in Sweden, setting up our life here have taken up a fair bit of our time. When we have the chance we do love to explore our surroundings: the coast, the hills, the wine regions or simply visit the Central markets for some wonderful local produce and a great atmosphere.

I know it is hard but can you name your favourite item in your collection?
We are both quite in to the maps and the more graphic style products. We also love to see how our customers personalise their Phoebe Lamps; with kids drawings, photos, fabric and so many other creative ideas!

Do you have a wishlist on DTLL? What are your top two at the mo?
We have no official wish list but the Brita Sweden Blanket & Rugs are great and going into Autumn it would probably be the Gunnel blanket and the Helmi Rug

Q&A with our Giveaway

How did your Business come about?
My husband, Ryan and I have always loved interiors and are both creative types- always thinking and dreaming. I am a preschool teacher by "trade" and was working as a private nanny before and after I had our daughter- as much as i enjoyed it, that was never something that truly satisfied me. After we had our daughter it made us reevaluate- to find a way to do what I love and also have the flexibility to run my own business and look after Luxe... so after 12 months of talking and planning, White Horse Home was birthed in early 2012.

Is there a story behind the name?
I'd love to say that there's some elaborate story, but there's no show stopper here... Ryan has been running his own merchandising company for the past 6 years and "White Horse" is part of his existing company name. Not to mention that white horses are absolutely beautiful, strong and majestic. White Horse Home was an easy decision!

What do you get up to when you are not working?
We have an almost three year old daughter, Luxe, so she keeps us busy... We love escaping the city and taking drives down the south coast... spending time with our amazing friends and family is always top of the list when we have spare time. For really tuning out, Ryan loves to skate whereas time out for me is going for a run or to the gym.

I know it is hard but can you name your favourite item in your collection?
Ooooooo this is hard! For the moment it'd have to be our Shuttlecock cushion.

Do you have a wishlist on DTLL? What are your top two at the mo?
Ok, so all of the Jonah and the Girl shoes are top of list- I love all the colours...Luxe has three pairs so far, but as kids' feet grow so fast I think it's justified to want some in every colour!

And, as we have an impending third birthday on the horizon I have been eyeing off one of the Incy wrought iron beds for her "big girl room"... always the way, shopping for my child more than I do for myself these days!
