Seller in the Spotlight : Burbia

Every few weeks we will put one of our gorgeous sellers in the spotlight and share with you a little about them and their business.

Today we introduce you to Greg Miller of Burbia.

How did you start your business?
Burbia first started back in 2009, before the Type Map scene became as big as it is today with so many variations on essentially the same idea. I've always loved type and print, and having something tangible you can touch and feel. And associating that with the places we live and love, and grew up. Branching on from that came the whole suburban theme from which Burbia was born. The type maps are just one part as I continue to grow with more ideas and prints to come in the Burbia range.

What inspires you?
Too many too mention... I love architecture and interiors the most. The Bauhaus Movement in the 1920's and all the amazing architecture, furniture and poster designs that followed on from that era is the highlight.  Living in Sydney we are lucky to have a great diverse range of amazing galleries, so I try to see as many exhibitions as I can... The late great Jeffry Smart is my favourite painter.

What is your favourite piece in your collection?
Growing up in Newcastle I would have to say the Newy print of course! And in the Urban Red, that is my favourite colour in the Burbia collection.

What is it that you wish people cared more about?
Recycling!!!! I wish people too more care about what they throw away. I remember watching a documentary on the Mumbai slums in India, presented by KenMcload of Grand Designs, and they recycle almost everything!

If you could invite 5 people (dead or alive) to dinner, who would you invite and why?
Andy Warhol (The pop art entertainer man himself, would keep things lively)
Leonardo Da Vincx (He could entertain us drawing a masterpiece on the tablecloth)
Arnold_Schwarzenegger (The ex Govenator now but you can't not admire what he's achieved)
Milla jovovich (She's just always been my favourite)
J. M. Barrie (Peter Pan himself)
